This is a set of hacks to UQM that I'm making.

I'm starting out with a bunch of stuff to facilitate exploring the universe,
hacking planets, and more.

Eventually, I intend to turn this into a general-purpose space-game engine.
Since it's GPL, I don't think that there's much copyright issues.  I'll strip
out the TfB/FF/PR3 IP and such (I'll try to modularize it) and make it that people
can insert their own assets, story lines, etc. for their own enjoyment.
Kinda like what Proj 6214 or whatever did... but not tied to any particular
IP.  Just a general hyperspace grid, a modular ship (I dunno if the shape is
IP that has to be altered...) and such.  With code and data plugins to describe
what races are and what they do... it could be a fun thing.

I'll also endeavour to port the whole thing to C++, over time.

I'll make it use Alepha's loadable library stuff (and probably Lua and
ECL for people to do some fun things with races without needing to write C++
in the engine).


I've decided to name this project "Chemistry Of Bad Mead" (COBM).  As a pun
on the old saying and a reference to the TfB/Star Control: Origins legal
settlement.  And CoBM sounds like it might be backronymed into some
kind of cool sci-fi series name.
